Fall Obsessions

Just the other day I was fretting about the presence of fall items when it was just beginning to feel like Summer here, but they’ve gotten the best of me! With every year that comes, I’m learning about the “must-haves” that one should have in their wardrobe for every season. This is just a quick post to share with you what’s on my wishlist – a few items that I should’ve had by now.

Ankle Boot

It is quite amazing that I do not have a pair of boots like this as yet. I was searching last year but my stick legs didn’t help much. I became rather frustrated and just gave up the search. I saw this pair in Nordstrom, I want to try them on to see if they feel comfortable and then I should hopefully have a pair.

Hooded Anorak

I was surfing www.loveculture.com because I hadn’t been on there for a while and came across this hooded anorak. I fell in love. I don’t have any light, hooded, coats – again very strange considering I live in Seattle. This item is definitely overdue for me. Hoods are more practical than umbrellas because of this lovely misty rain, so I’m trying to collect more hooded coats/jackets when I am on the hunt for one.

Trench

Yes the Trench! I’m going for a stretch here and that’s why this item is a wishlist item. I visited the store with a friend and we tried them on, got tips on different ways to wear them and got an idea of the styles that suited our body shapes better. The Burberry Trench is considered to be one of the most classic items of clothing every fashionista should own. I’d consider myself a budding one because I cannot wrap my head around trying to obtain every single thing a true fashionista should own. But this coat oozes superiority in every aspect. If I do get one by the end of the year, you can be sure I’ll have a post on it.

Cloth

Last month I “purchased” an app called Cloth and I just started using it today. The app is free but if you want the filters and weather (to help you categorize the type of weather your outfit is suited for) you pay $0.99. I’m so happy about Cloth that I wanted to share my thoughts on it! I’d found out about it in an article by Mashable.com (← click for article). I downloaded all of the free ones just because I didn’t want to forget to get them and I didn’t want to spend money on apps that weren’t for me and it would be a waste of money.

I’ll be going home for a wedding next month, but prior to that my parents will be here then we all leave together. So I got to thinking that packing would be quite interesting if we’re out doing stuff with them and I won’t have my usual time to think through outfits that I want to take. That’s when I pulled out my phone, went looking at all the apps I’d bought about “digitizing your wardrobe” and I found that Cloth suited my needs to a T! So off I went snapping away :).

You can take the pictures while wearing the outfits but I just want to have a general idea of an outfit so I laid mine out on the floor and started taking pics to just build up ideas. I managed to get about 6 outfits done but we’re having a pretty hot day in Seattle for once and the heat got the best of me so I decided to take a break. You can share your entries on Clothapp.com, Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter as well. As far as picture saving goes, you have the option of just keeping the pictures within the app or saving them to your Camera roll (I really like that).

You have 7 categories (some seen below). The only issue I have here is that you cannot customize them. I would LOVE to customize the categories but for now I’m just adding tags for what I’d use in place of a category. You can also receive badges for your entries but I’m not interested in that right now. I went in with a purpose and further exploration will be done later.

Some of the categories

As I said, the main purpose of me using this app is a means of “pre-packing” planning. I’ll be adding more outfits as the days go by but for now, I’m really liking what I’m seeing so far. I always told my husband that an app like this would be icing on the cake. I’m kind of happy I switched from Blackberry to iPhone now or else I’d still be living in the shadows lol. If you’re a budding fashionista or professional, I think this app is great. You can always have an idea of how you wore an outfit and how you may be able to change it up for another occasion. So go on and check it out!

Think: Positive (QOtD)

I’m sorry I haven’t been posting much this month but I’m in the middle of a move so hopefully I’ll be back to normal next month. I just wanted to share a few thoughts as well as this quote of the day.

I went to yoga last Saturday and that time to clear my mind and body was exactly what I needed. Throw in this quote and I’ve got enough inspiration to get through this weekend. However, my body is screaming for a massage. SCREAMING. I made my appointment for Monday (after we move) but it’s like torture. It needs it now!

I know my body. I know when something isn’t right. Unfortunately I don’t always want to correct the wrong. Terrible headaches from too much sugar consumed yet I rather take an Aleve than put down the snack. The tension needs to be stretched out, but it hurts to stretch so I’ll pass. Why do I torture myself? Human will is a bitch. No nice way to put it. I want to right the wrong but the will is so low I don’t know what inspiration will get it going. I need to think happy thoughts. Need to be in a good place mentally to know that I can get through this. I get frustrated looking around but at the same time I’m pleased with what I managed to accomplish. I know that once I keep it together, be organized and just enjoy the experience everything will flow and I will be happy. Mentally that is doable but it’s to put it into practice. I will try my best to put it into practice.

I wanted to write more but as it is, I’m rushing this post because I simple can’t focus with all that I have in mind to do.
