“Progress”

Tomorrow I have a session with my trainer 🙂 sooo happy! I’ll be doing 4 sessions but I also have a free session as I signed up for a workout on the 24th  with the money going towards a charity for Ovarian Cancer. I signed up on the 12th as I got the email about it and I’ve been looking forward to it (the cause not the workout).

My husband will be training with me sometimes (if not all the time) so I look forward to this “bonding” time we will have together, which may consist of a very competitive spirit and pushing each other like we’re in boot camp but all for the greater good yeah?

I’ve been sticking to my smoothies and Smart Start and eating less junk. The gym will definitely help what I’ve been doing since not a single pound has been lost yet. Stupse. I will not be discouraged though, I’m on a mission and I won’t quit. But for now, my shepherd’s pie is calling me and it’s time for dinner anyway. Updates to come 🙂

Sexy and I Know It

Since my last post, I got busy with my “overhaul” I’ve been drinking fruit smoothies (banana, orange juice, peaches, strawberries and vanilla yogurt) for breakfast and I decided to start back on Smart Start cereal. Back in university I started eating this cereal night and day just because I loved it then I realised I was losing weight. It was only when I saw the Special K ads for their ‘2 week challenge’ that I realised what was going on. So I’m eating the cereal again to help in my challenge. I’ve been trying to cut down on my flour intake but I’ve resolved that I can’t quite cut it out entirely so once I keep it to a minimum and avoid it wherever possible I should be OK.

I’m making diet a huge issue because I don’t always have the discipline for the gym but I’m REALLY trying to get into it. My gym is having a day dedicated to raising money for ovarian cancer. I’ve signed up for a training session (free when you make a donation of $50 or more) and I’m hoping to get at least 4 other sessions to help push me along. I’ve made it to the gym twice since the last post (which is very good for me) and I’m not busy this week so I’m hoping to make it more often.

I had my first leg wax this week and it was quite fun! My friend is in training and I volunteered to grow mine for her to wax at school. I was terrified but the wax she used made it painless. It was a pleasant experience. I thought it would hurt more but after the strip was pulled, there was a slight sting then nothing after. My legs felt very sensitive after, like wind blew and there was this tingling that felt weird, but other than that, they’re smooooth and awesome ;). I’d do it again for sure. Underarms are next and I think I’ll cry for that one. Who knows it may not be too bad but for now it just seems way more painful than legs.

As part of my motivation, I’ve put this song as my ringtone and it’s my theme song now. At first it was Sexy B**ch by David Guetta ft Akon but this song has taken over. Need a self-esteem booster? Listen/watch this :D.

Sexy and we know it! 😉

Overhaul

Since my last post I actually stepped on the scale and I need to lose 5lbs not 3. Yes, a whole two pounds more but it makes a huge difference for where I have to lose it. So I’ve resolved that I will put in the work – diet and exercise. I made it to the gym Friday and I would like to do a yoga class or two this week, but we’ll see how that works as I have to take my husband to work.

I used to have my diet under control but now’s the time to get back there. This will be hard but I know it’s the only way to get to where I want to be. Today I did rice for myself while I did pasta for my husband, and had a smaller portion of food. Portion control is back on the books again. I probably won’t lose the whole 5lbs but mainly tone certain areas as I like this booty size :P. I’m definitely going to hold out on the flour stuff in meals as much as possible – pasta, bread sides, croutons, etc. and use more multi-grain (which I kind of do already). So as part of this new overhaul, I will still try the one dessert per month but I’ll make  it a healthy one or switch up some ingredients to make a “naughty” dessert a good one :). The good thing about baking is that I hardly eat what I make but I love sharing it for others to enjoy.

I’m going to give myself a 5 week challenge to see how I do. I really need to do this for myself and hope that by blogging about it I may be able to offer encouragement to someone out there who may need it.

On a livelier note, this ad is one of my favorites right now and makes me like the song even more! Definitely a song to have on my gym playlist!

To losing pounds and changing frowns xx

Cheers!
